Gala Dinner – Event Organiser's Perspective

10am
Susan who is anxious as this is her first event has just arrived at the top of the escalators and is greeted by the professional host who has been awaiting her arrival. The host escorts Susan into Palladium where she sees the room is alive with staff setting tables. Audio Visual technicians and decorators are rigging drapes and securing the props.
All of the boxes that had been delivered 2 days earlier had been brought up from the Loading Dock and were awaiting her arrival.
Susan can smell the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and as she turns around a beverage attendant is standing there presenting her with a cup.

11am – 3pm
The room is in motion. Crowns immaculately dressed staff in crisp black uniforms and white gloves are quickly and quietly adding the final touches right down to polishing away the fingerprints on the mirrored centre pieces.
Set at the back of the room is an array of sandwiches, salads and cool drinks that have been arranged by the Event Manager to help Susan and her staff get through their day.
During a break the Sales Account Executive and Event Manager stop by to wish Susan well with her event and to make sure that all is running to plan. They have a little surprise for her which she is looking forward to opening later.
Music pumps through the room, lights dim and rehearsals are about to start.

3pm – 6pm
As rehearsals draw to a close Susan gets a tap on the shoulder from her experienced Duty Manager who wants to review the run sheet with her to make sure that all details are correct and the night is an outstanding success.
Susan confident that everything is running according to plan, retires to her complimentary Deluxe Room at Crown Towers to prepare for the evening. When she arrives in the room she sees that her formal dress has been pressed and is waiting for her.

6.30pm onwards
Susan arrives in the Palladium dressed for the evening for her final check and sees that the room is complete, place cards are in place, candles lit and music playing softly in the background.
As guests arrive she enjoys her first glass of champagne and looks forward to a successful, seamless evening.
